Four services, one standard of prep

Interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet refinishing and deck staining look like four different trades. What ties them together is what happens before the finish goes on.

Every one of these jobs fails the same way: a coating applied to a surface that was dirty, damp, glossy, chalky or moving. Washing, degreasing, scraping, sanding, repairing, caulking and priming are the whole difference between work that lasts and work that looks fine for two years. That’s why our estimates list prep separately from paint, and why we’d rather lose a bid on price than win it by cutting prep.

Which service do you need?

A room feels dated or tired → interior painting. Scuffed hallway walls that go shiny when you clean them → also interior, but the fix is a more washable finish.

Faded siding, chalky trim, peeling around windows, a tired garage door → exterior painting, where prep matters most and quotes vary most.

The kitchen looks dated but the layout works → cabinet refinishing. If the layout is the real problem, we’ll tell you paint is the wrong spend.

Wood and outdoors: decks, railings, fences, pergolas → deck and fence staining, which runs on its own timeline because the wood has to dry properly between washing and staining.

What every project includes

• A free estimate, walked in person by Carter, not quoted off a photo.
• A written scope that separates prep from paint.
• Everything that isn’t getting painted protected: furniture, floors, fixtures, landscaping.
• Daily cleanup, not one big cleanup at the end.
• A final walkthrough together, in daylight when possible.

What we’ll talk you out of

Going much darker on vinyl siding (it can warp). Refinishing cabinets whose boxes are failing. Staining a deck that hasn’t dried after washing. Painting brick without talking through limewash first. Each of those is a job we could take and would rather talk you out of, because they look fine on day one and become a problem later.
